Andy Warhol Pictures & Portraits

The famous Pop Art portraits from the Andy Warhol pictures in his book Andy Warhol's Exposures started as Polaroid photos of celebrities. They were black and white, and unfortunately, not always considered flattering to his subjects. He turned them into paintings and today those paintings are in museums and among his most popular prints and posters.

Andy Warhol Pictures Were Polaroids
He continued to use the Polaroid for the base picture of his self portraits and portraits of others. Many of his portraits were from the sports world including Muhammad Ali, Chris Evert, Dorothy Hamill and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. His friends in the music business included Bob Dylan, Sting, and Madonna.

Andy's Fame
One interesting thing about Warhol was that, partially, he was famous for being famous. Andy Warhol pictures were popular because he was popular. He was a wealthy artist but his level of fame for fame's sake was new at the time. In today's media Paris Hilton could be compared to him as famous for fame's sake.
